Every Saturday in August, at 6 pm Victoria Cultural Center invites you to the “Garden for Art” – a space for meetings, shows, concerts and exhibitions. The events take place at the back of the Youth Culture Center building at ul. Barlickiego 3. The participants of the first meeting in August will take part in an unusual screening of the film “Superman”, for which they will create their own dubbing. Selected versions of the scenarios are presented in the outdoor cinema during the evening. Subsequent meetings will be an opportunity to immerse yourself in the sounds of the music of the hot afternoon, participate in the screening of the animated film “Gulliver’s Travels” with the first Polish dubbing, or take a look behind the scenes of a mobile radio studio. Explore exotic lands without leaving the city!

How? By visiting the Cultural Market! (ruins of the Victoria Theater in Aleja Przyjaźni 18). It’s the middle of summer and you haven’t swam yet? Do not worry! You don’t have to go to the seaside to catch up. The Gliwice Forest Bathing Center invites you to sunbathe together, where all pools are now available to visitors. Register children for the Theater Playground!

If your child wants to try a real stage, you can make his dream come true by enrolling him in acting workshops as part of the Theater Playground. In the second half of August – just like in July – three performances will take place in the Municipal Theater in Gliwice, after which actors – Mariusz Galilejczyk and Kornel Sadiowski – invite children to play creatively together. You can now save three appointments in your calendar. On Sunday, August 14 at 3 p.m., the youngest will see “Szpak Fryderyk” on stage. Also on Sunday August 21 at the same time a performance entitled ‘Ah, how wonderful Panama is.’ On Saturday, August 27 at 3 p.m., the theater “Children from Bullerbyn” can be seen. Serve the kids a soccer summer!

And if your child has a lot of energy and you don’t know how to organize the time to use it, the municipal administration of the municipal services will come to the rescue, which as part of the current holiday with MZUK, from August 22 to 26 in the stadium at ul. Fiolkowa in Łabędy organizes the football summer for the little ones. The sports lessons take place from 10 am to 11:30 am. They are divided into two groups of 15: children from 7 to 9 and from 10 to 12 years. The extra accommodation is a response to the great interest of residents in the range of sports activities for children. The number of places is limited, so pre-registration is necessary. Listen to live music… in the park and in the ruins!

If you’re a live music lover, you’ll have plenty to choose from in August. Every Saturday of the month at 7.30 pm in Park Chopina there are free concerts with light music as part of the “Park Summer 2022” series. And if you’re closer to jazz, you’ll be thrilled with the news that on August 19 at the GZUT Model Hall on ul. Wincentego Pola 7-9, the 18th edition of the International Jazz in Ruins Festival kicks off – this year under the slogan “Make Jazz Not War”. As part of the event, the Śląski Jazz Club Association organized eight concerts and an exhibition of posters and images. In addition, access to all events is free.

Take the youngest on holiday with the museum in Gliwice!

That travel educates has long been known. The museum in Gliwice also knows that – just like in July – it takes children on an educational “journey” through Gliwice sculptures from the first half of the 20th century, palaces of Upper Silesian industrialists and 18th century Rome. All this as part of the series of workshops “Holiday trips with the museum in Gliwice”. The August meetings will be held from Tuesday to Friday at 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM, in two locations: from August 2 to 31 at Willa Caro (ul. How about a summer LABA?

The laboratory for highly artistic activities – LABA for short, is another offer for children and teenagers who spend the summer in Gliwice. Want to catch up on filming and spending time outdoors? We have good news for you! As in July, there are two screenings at different locations every Sunday in August as part of the Summer Outdoor Cinema – at 6pm for children and at 8pm for adults.
