Foot care at home – how to take care of your feet in the summer?

After all, they lead you to work, on a date or to the beach. Do we do anything for them outside of the daily ritual of washing? Usually we focus on facial care, cleansing, perfect make-up, on hands or hair. What about the feet? Do we pay that much attention to it?

Every summer woman dreams of beautiful, well-groomed feet, which, when exposed to summer shoes, give her confidence and make them feel beautiful and well-groomed. The right treatments performed at home will bring them relief and, most importantly, they will become our showcase. So what should good foot care look like? Below are some effective ways to keep your feet in top condition no matter the season, especially in summer when our skin is exposed to high temperatures and sun exposure.

The care is divided into different phases. Each of them is equally important and affects the condition of the skin, nails and our well-being, when coming home all day we have the impression of heavy or often swollen legs. However, the most important thing in the whole regeneration process is regularity. This allows us to enjoy beautiful and well-cared-for skin for a long time.

The first step is to prepare the feet for the SPA treatment at home: do not forget to cut the nails and remove the varnish from them. The most famous and simple treatment is a nourishing bath. The bath gives the best results if we add salt or essential oils to our favorite scents – you can buy them at a nearby pharmacy or drugstore. This treatment has a relaxing effect after the whole day, which will nourish and regenerate our skin. The treatment also removes bacteria from the skin’s surface and reduces swelling. Depending on the ingredients added to the water, different effects can be obtained. A bath with salt, softens, regenerates the epidermis and is a source of refreshment, this treatment is worth recommending to people who struggle with very hard skin on their heels. We can also use a bath ball or baking soda, which will disinfect the skin of the feet and prevent excessive sweating.

To carry out the treatment, it is enough to prepare a bowl into which we pour water in such an amount that it is possible to immerse the entire feet, then add a few drops of oil or about 5 tablespoons of salt or baking soda and the bath is ready.

Soaking your feet in warm water softens the skin and removes dead epidermis and calluses. Do not forget that the temperature of the water during bathing should not be too high – so as not to dry out the skin, and its duration should not exceed 20 minutes.

To prepare it yourself at home, you only need products that we normally have in kitchen cabinets.

The first is sugar and honey peeling – it consists of:

– 2 teaspoons of sugar;

– 2 tablespoons of any liquid honey purchased.

All you need to do is mix the ingredients well and massage gently into the skin of the feet. Wash the product under lukewarm water after the massage.

The second, equally simple and quick peeling is the baking soda peeling.

To complete it you only need:

– 1 tablespoon of water;

– 3 tablespoons of baking powder.

Place the ingredients in a bowl to form a thick paste. We put the finished product on the feet and massage them for about 10 minutes. At the end of the treatment rinse with lukewarm water. When the skin of the feet after the peeling is sufficiently smooth and soft, we can turn our attention to the nails, which are equally important in the regeneration process, and their care has a positive effect on their appearance and condition. We can lubricate the nails with a few drops of olive oil, and the beneficial power of the oil will additionally brighten and eliminate discoloration on the nail plate. In addition to olive oil, we can use other oils, such as avocado oil, linseed or argan oil and ampoules with vitamin A, which can be bought at a pharmacy or a shop nearby.

The final stage of a home SPA worth remembering is skin hydration. We achieve this effect by using moisturizing foot creams, so that the effect of healthy and well-groomed feet lasts for a long time. After the ritual is over and the applied product has dried, we can apply varnish in your favorite color to the nails and enjoy the beautiful appearance of our well-groomed feet in summer shoes for outdoor use.
