European funds to fight the negative effects of the COVID-19 pandemic – Marshal’s Office of the Lubelskie Voivodeship in Lublin

The European Commission has mobilized additional resources under the REACT-EU instrument to combat the social and economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Thanks to them, the Lublin Agency for Enterprise Support in Lublin (LAWP) will provide companies with support from European funds amounting to 20.5 million euros. On Wednesday, July 27 of this year, the Marshal of the Lubelskie Voivodeship, Jarosław Stawiarski, handed over the first contracts to 10 entrepreneurs from the region as part of the 1st round of the competition “Installations for the production of energy from RES with a capacity of up to 0.5 MW” under measure 15.1 “Energy support for enterprises”. In total there will be 120 such agreements – they total more than PLN 49 million, of which PLN 23.5 million is a contribution from the EU.

– I believe that the additional funding we have received from the European Commission will enable us to reduce the rising energy costs in your businesses. At the same time, I would like to assure you that in the new financial perspective we will continue to support the development of “green energy” in the region – said Marshal Stawiarski.

Energy efficient

The aim of measure 15.1 “Energy support for enterprises” is the energy transformation of the regional economy by increasing the use of renewable energy sources and improving energy efficiency in industry. The energy transformation will change the energy balance, leveraging the existing potential for the production of energy from renewable sources, especially solar energy. The effect of the measures taken will be to increase the capacity of enterprises in Lubelskie Voivodeship and to increase the share of energy generated from renewable sources in the production of electricity. Micro, small and medium-sized enterprises and commercial enterprises with a majority share of local government units could apply for grants. LAWP divided the call for proposals into three rounds:

  • Round I – Installations for the generation of energy from RES with a capacity of up to 0.5 MW (recruitment from February 28 this year to March 21 this year)
  • Round II – Deep Thermal Modernization (recruitment from March 22 this year to April 20 this year)
  • Round III – Installations for the generation of energy from RES with a capacity above 0.5 MW (recruitment from April 21 this year to May 6 this year)

The implementation of projects supported by REACT-EU should be completed by the end of 2023.
