Recruitment in the 2nd scholarship competition! Nearly PLN 9 million for the digital transformation of cultural centers

Digital conversion of cultural centers is a systemic project funded by the European Union under the Digital Poland Operational Program. The aim of the project is to provide local government cultural institutions with the competences and skills needed to implement and develop cultural education and animation activities in the local community. The project is a competition project and consists of the following parts.

1. Subsidies for cultural institutions for:

  • purchase of computer hardware, accessories, on-line transmission equipment (audio-video, sound system);
  • purchase of digital equipment for multimedia rooms / AR rooms (projectors, screens, multimedia projectors, audio devices, software), for online streaming, TV and other multimedia activities, recording, radio, speech and podcast studios;
  • purchase of software and licenses;
  • cover the costs of adapting the activities performed to the needs of people with disabilities: purchase of equipment, preparation of educational pathways for people with different types of disabilities, films at PJM / SJM / SKOGN, provision of websites / applications;
  • additional training resulting from the specific needs of a particular institution and the activities it undertakes.

2. Training program for subsidy recipients, consisting of:

  • extensive training for the staff on the beneficiary’s premises on how to design a cultural offer online,
  • specialized online training courses and webinars,
  • support through self-study during the project period,
  • consultation with an accessibility expert.

The result of the training is the development of a digital strategy for the institution.

The project Digital conversion of community centers will be expanded with networking activities – meetings and study visits, support for the exchange of experiences and forging relationships between subsidy recipients. As part of the summary, training, educational and popularizing materials will be developed and made available online using coworking and crowdsourcing methods. We conclude the project with a forum, which will be an opportunity to present the substantive effects of the project and the possibility of its implementation in cultural sector entities that do not directly participate in project activities.

The following are eligible for the grant competition:

1. community centres, cultural centers and culture and arts centers with the status of local cultural institution, with the exception of institutions co-managed by the minister and local government units.

2. libraries with self-governing cultural institution status, including community centers, cultural centers or culture and arts centers.

At the substantive assessment stage of applications, preference will be given to applications submitted by entities:

1. which are organized respectively by: a rural municipality, an urban-rural municipality without population restrictions, and an urban municipality or a poviat located in a city with a maximum population of 50 thousand. inhabitants, more than 50 km away from major urban centers;

2.with headquarters in the following counties: Podlaskie, Lubelskie, Łódzkie, Zachodniopomorskie, Kujawsko-Pomorskie, Lubuskie, Podkarpackie.

Attention! For financing in the projectgrant recipients of the 1st grant competition are not allowed to submit an applicationDigital conversion of cultural centers. Grant projects will be implemented from September 1, 2022 to August 31, 2023.

In the first subsidy competition, the National Center for Culture supported 199 institutions for an amount of more than PLN 26 million. Grantees have participated in an extensive training program. In the first phase of the project, carried out from November 2021 to March 2022, the National Center for Culture delivered 200 two-day stationary training sessions on the beneficiary’s premises (3,200 training hours). In total, about 2,000 people took part. people. The grant recipients also purchased equipment (computers and accessories, online transmission equipment, maps, AR, multimedia room equipment), which will contribute to, among other things, the provision of online classes, event broadcasting, archiving and digitization of memorabilia of the local community, improving the work of community centers, better communication with recipients, increasing the accessibility of cultural offerings for people with special needs.
