realme GT Neo 3T Dragon Ball Z Edition review

Realme has been treating us for a long time with newer and newer phone models that seem to be composed of their predecessors. Łukasz has already reviewed realme GT NEO 3T for you, and I tested realme GT NEO 3T Dragon Ball Z Edition and even if you didn’t run to Dragon Ball on RTL7 after school, it’s worth watching and seeing or this version has something more to offer. Feel free to review.

  • long-lasting battery that charges quickly
  • very bright AMOLED display
  • good day pictures
  • good performance
  • no memory expansion possible
  • an opaque housing covering the uniqueness of the housing
  • too few elements in the system that refer to Dragon Ball

Realme GT Neo 3T Dragon Ball Z Edition review in three sentences

Realme GT NEO 3T Dragon Ball Z Edition is an ordinary-unusual smartphone, which offers something else in addition to the already known realme strengths such as good battery, performance and a well-thought-out overlay. Accents related to the well-known anime in the form of changed colors or additional elements in the system will be a real treat for any Dragon Ball fan. It is also the only version of the GT NEO 3T with more memory, which is the biggest advantage in the absence of a microSD slot.

Realme GT Neo 3T Dragon Ball Z Edition Kit, Specs and Price

realme GT Neo 3T Dragon Ball Z Edition review

The packaging in which you receive the phone looks promising. It is very large compared to the competition and the whole refers to the anime beloved by many. The content is not that impressive anymore, but in addition to the standard documentation there is also room for a fast charger, a USB-C – USB-A cable and a dark gray housing. Unfortunately, the case received almost completely covers the remarkable phone case and deprives it of the most characteristic Dragonball elements. In my opinion, this is a very bizarre situation, as the edition includes a transparent case with no Dragon Ball in the name. This edition also includes stickers with anime characters, a card with Shen Long and a key to remove the SIM tray, specially designed to resemble a dragon ball.

realme GT Neo 3T Dragon Ball Z Edition review

If you compare the parameters of this phone with the standard version, you will see that it is almost the same. However, this is the main difference, as the fan version is equipped with twice as much memory – 256 GB, which may outweigh Dragon Ball in the absence of a memory card slot. The price difference is currently 400 PLN and you now get the standard version for PLN 2099 and the Dragon Ball Z edition for PLN 2499. Is it worth paying that much extra? It depends if you care.

Realme GT Neo 3T Dragon Ball Z Edition Construction and Build Quality

realme GT Neo 3T Dragon Ball Z Edition review

First of all, no one will pass the realme GT NEO 3T Dragon Ball Z edition indifferently. Despite the case being plastic, the nice finish and orange and blue style give the impression of being a much more expensive phone. The back has extra shiny elements that add a visual three-dimensional effect. The top right corner houses the Goku symbol and the top left corner is a classic very protruding island of cameras, causing the phone to sway a lot when it’s on the table.

The blue phone frames are decorated with lock buttons (right) and volume keys (left). The first is orange, has a striking texture and is placed at a good height, which improves the comfort of use. At the bottom you will find a speaker, microphone, SIM tray and a USB-C connector. Only the headphone jack is missing. On the top edge is an additional microphone and speaker, allowing the sound to be played in stereo.

The front of the phone is covered with Gorilla Glass 5, which is covered directly with a protective film. The whole fits well, but it is a pity that the manufacturer does not provide waterproof and dustproof properties.

Display and image quality

The display is a 6.62-inch AMOLED screen with a fullHD+ chapter. It boasts HDR support, 120Hz screen refresh and sensational brightness of up to 1300 nits. In the settings menu we can choose 60 or 120 hertz screen refresh, but also automatic refresh adjustment. The only downside is the lack of refreshing choice in games and here it is always the 60Hz maximum.

The bezels around the screen are small and the bottom bezel is only slightly wider. An efficient fingerprint reader is hidden under the display. I would prefer it to be positioned higher which would improve the comfort of use, but that could just be my preference.

Battery – working and charging time

Realme can receive nothing but praise here. In GT NEO 3T, you will not enjoy the loading animation specially designed for the Dragonball edition. 80 watts of Super Dart charging charges the 5000mAh battery to 50% in 8 minutes, to 80% in 23 minutes, and we’ll see a hundred in 35 minutes. A fully charged battery was enough for about 30 hours of work in my use, less than 6 hours of which was on the screen. When used economically, the phone is charged once every two days. It is true that I have already used phones with such a capacity that allowed longer battery life, but unlike them, this did not come at the expense of the phone’s performance and so realme never beat the applications that I used on the background needed.

Cameras – the quality of photos and videos

The cameras are more than satisfactory to describe. On the back we have three main lenses, 64 megapixels, ultra-wide angle 8 megapixels and 2 megapixel macro. The latter, as we are used to from various manufacturers, is very disappointing. You will get better results by zooming in on the main snapper. With the main lens you can take beautiful photos with good sharpness and a degree of detail. The frames are expressive, but not overly colored. When shooting indoors, the focus is lost a bit, but the photos are still very good. If you like taking pictures at night, you shouldn’t be disappointed. When it’s dark, we can easily get a good photo and the slightly faded colors are enhanced by the night mode. In this mode we are going to visibly improve the photos from the wide-angle camera. Daytime photos are good with this lens, but not sensational. With ultra-wide-angle photos, the tendency towards a cooler white balance is also noticeable than with the main camera.

There is room for a selfie camera on the front of the phone. Although the camera has a whopping 16 megapixels, it does not give excellent results. Even on a sunny day, the photos are faded and with a slight noise, but overall they can be described as correct.

Video

Video with realme GT Neo 3T Dragon Ball Z Edition will be included in:

  • 1080p 30fps
  • 1080p 60fps
  • 4k 30fps
  • 4k 60 fps

It’s worth noting that when you turn on the main lens shooting, you don’t switch to the wide-angle lens. Conversely, you don’t switch from wide angle to main lens either.

Software and performance

On board the phone we have Android 12 with the realme UI 3.0 overlay, which has already appeared on other phones, and fans of the previous versions should be familiar with it, as it clearly draws from it. Everything about this overlay fits snugly and offers many personalization options. None of this comes at the cost of Android’s reduced features, though, which is a lot of fun. The only drawback that annoys me a bit is that adjusting the colors to the wallpaper works a bit weird and so Google applications always adapt to the wallpaper, not the settings from the “colors” menu, while realme applications take into account with the “colors” ” settings. Ultimately, there is a great mishmash of colors between applications. However, I think this cosmetic flaw will only bother sensitive aesthetes. If you bought realme GT NEO 3T Dragon Ball Z Edition with only the name of your favorite anime in the name, you will find some references in the system, these include additional dragon ball themed wallpapers, a pack of special icons and an interesting animation while charging the phone, which, however, does not seem to refer to any animation film, some elements that are easy to enter, such as sounds, are still missing.

The phone runs under the control of Snapdragon 870 5G, backed by 8 gigabytes of RAM and, as I wrote before, the whole thing in everyday use has never let me down. Keeping applications open for a long time in the memory, high responsiveness and speed definitely speak in favor of this phone. You can play games freely with the components.

Realme GT Neo 3T Dragon Ball Z Edition review – summary

How is realme GT NEO 3T Dragon Ball Z Edition in my opinion? As a regular smartphone, it is really good in almost every aspect. It has a great screen, a decent camera and a decent and well managed battery that can be recharged in no time. As for the part of Dragon Ball Z in the name, I think realme could have done more to differentiate this phone in terms of customizations in the system. The look of the phone matches the colors of the anime, but if you want to use the supplied bumper, you have to give it up completely.
