Five places in Europe that will amaze you. Our picks! – Biznes Wprost

Are you dreaming of a cheap holiday by the sea? Do you want to get to know a different culture and spend your holiday abroad with guaranteed sunny weather and high temperatures? We present a list of places that combine all these advantages. You are there in a few hours directly from Poland.

Nice – the pearl of the Cote d’Azur

It is worth coming to Nice at any time of the year. Most of the year the days are sunny and the climate is mild. But it is especially attractive in summer. It is a true paradise for people who want to rest. And there is nothing better than lounging on the beach and relaxing under the palm trees with a drink.

It is one of the most visited cities in France by tourists. Interestingly, you can feel there in Italy. This is because it was an Italian city until 1860, hence the style and construction elements resemble old Italian cities. You can start your tour from the picturesque Massena Square, which is considered the city center, surrounded by colorful buildings with a fountain and seven statues on stilts symbolizing the continents of the earth. The next point of the journey is the old town, which in summer becomes a godsend for tourists who want to hide in shady streets from the bright sun.

If you are in this part of the city, you must visit the Cours Saleya market at least three times. Why no less than three? Because this market has its three faces – on Mondays there is a large antique shop. At that time, antique dealers from all over the area were selling their books. From Tuesday to Sunday in the morning there are stalls selling fruits, vegetables, flowers and souvenirs. It is also worth going in the evening, when the restaurants set the tables and serve Mediterranean dishes.

Near the old town there is the Castle Hill, from which you have a view over the whole of Nice. It’s worth knowing that you can take the rock-cut elevator to the top, which – but surprise – is completely free. For those who like to laze on the beach, we have good information – beaches stretch all over the city. Because they are made of small stones, we recommend that you bring a mat and rubber shoes. The entrance itself is free. These are just some of the attractions in the city itself, in addition, Monaco and Cannes are quite close, which you can get to for a relatively low price. As for the trip to Nice itself, LOT has prepared a very flexible offer, flying there every day from Warsaw. The flight time is approximately two and a half hours.

Barcelona – the magical city of Gaudí

Poles love Barcelona! But how not to love her. It is a huge metropolis with access to the sea, great food, museums and architectural gems. The showcase is the famous Sagrada Familia, but there are also many other interesting places to see. One of these is the fantastic Park Güell – an amazing garden with beautiful buildings – designed by Antoni Gaudi, a world famous architect.

The heart of the Catalan capital is crossed by La Rambla, a 1.5 kilometer promenade from Plaça de Catalunya to the Columbus monument right on the sea. Speaking of the sea, there are dozens of sandy beaches in the city, so everyone will find their own corner.

For football fans, Camp Nou, the stadium where FC Barcelona play their home games, is of course a must-see, the “Pride of Catalonia” is one of the largest of its kind in the world. Those hungry for football knowledge can expand it in the FC Barcelona museum, which is part of the stadium. As in Nice, LOT flies to Barcelona seven days a week. The flight time is just over three hours.

Burgas – holiday on the Black Sea

The main advantage of Bulgaria’s largest port city is its nature. In addition to the Black Sea, Burgas and the surrounding area have several salt lakes to offer. It is worth knowing that bathing in them has healing properties. Along the coast is the Seaside Park, a well-maintained place with numerous trees, flowers and alleys, where you can rest from the heat.

The buildings themselves in the town are also impressive, especially the church of St Cyril and Methodius with a decorated dome. Also worth a visit is the Ethnographic Museum with traditional costumes, jewelry and furniture.

In the evening we recommend a walk through Aleja Bogoridi with its many Balkan restaurants. Thirty kilometers away is the famous Sunny Beach, which has two water parks in addition to beautiful beaches, so it is a great destination for families with children. You arrive in Burgas with LOT and the flight time is two hours.

Tirana – the capital of Albania with an oriental atmosphere

Tirana itself has no access to the sea, but the nearest seaside town – Durres – is only forty minutes away from the capital. Albania’s largest city is home to many historic religious buildings, both Muslim and Christian. It is also worth visiting the bunkers left over from the communist regime. The rooms contain, among other things, photos and documents, and tools for civilian surveillance. The profiles of the victims of the system were also presented.

The Grand Park of Tirana is located near the center, where a lake has been created and recreational trails have been mapped out. One kilometer from the park is a characteristic pyramid-shaped building that used to be the mausoleum of Enver Hoxha, the leader of communist Albania. Currently, every year it is deteriorating more and more, which is why it is all the more worth seeing.

Near the capital you have to go to the town of Kruja, where small buses from Tirana and Durres will take you. A castle has been built in the village, which looks fantastic against the backdrop of the mountains. You can fly aboard LOT to Albania every day of the week, the flight time is about 2 hours from Warsaw.

Split – direction Dalmatia

Split is one of the most famous cities in Croatia. It has many interesting monuments from different historical eras, starting with the oldest – the palace of Diocletian, the ancient Roman emperor. This home has almost 40,000 m2 of space! Unfortunately, the palace deteriorated considerably due to the barbarian invasions. Currently, there are 220 buildings in the area, inhabited by nearly 3,000 people. In addition, service points, restaurants, cafes and museums are open here.

In the old town stands the Cathedral of St. Dujama, the most emblematic point of this district. Adjacent is a 61 meter high tower, which is open to the public. After reaching the top you have a beautiful view over the old town and the Adriatic Sea. Five kilometers from the city, on the hills, is the fortress Klis from the early Middle Ages. Concerts are held at this time of year.

We have not forgotten the sea with which Split has always been associated. There is a large passenger port next to the train station, from which cruise ships and the ferries of the state of Jadrolinija depart. You sail them not only to the neighboring islands, but also to Italy, for example. The beaches here are clean and pleasant. And the most popular of them – Bačvice Beach – is sandy. It’s a rarity in Croatia, so it’s no wonder that crowds flock here in the summer. LOT flies to Split from Warsaw several times a week.

We hope we’ve helped you a little and that you already know the answer to where you’re going on your summer travels. Whichever place you choose, you are sure to have a great time. Find your LOT on lot.com.
