UM Bytom: The “Summer in the city” campaign is about to start. Numerous attractions await children and teens on 3/07/2022

Unique walks, outdoor activities and many varied creative, artistic and sporting workshops. Find out about the program of events organized for the youngest who will spend their holidays in Bytom.

Holiday with Becek

The Bytom Cultural Center invites you to a series of workshops for children called “Parkobajtle”. For children, Becek has prepared physical activities, music and games in the open air, as well as fairytale encounters. Workshops for children as part of the “Bytom – Embassy of the Impossible” program will also be conducted by the ULICA Foundation for Help for Children. For years, Ambassadors of the Impossible have supported children, young people, their families and teachers in developing and overcoming life crises.

There will also be a series of concerts for the public yearning for outdoor music. That’s why from July 10 to August 28 every Sunday at 5 pm in the landscape of the Noordvijver in the City Park. Franciszek Kachla Becek invites you to a musical feast. There will be JaniaBand, Gabriela Silva, Banita Band, Łukasz “Lucky” Franusik, Concert “Jazz Bar Trio”, Waldemar Rychły and Friends, An Dreo e Karina, Noordkaap. The repertoire will be varied – from folk and shanties to Silesian party songs to operetta songs

The outdoor BCKino is also returning to the summer holidays. From July 8 to August 26, you can participate in open-air screenings on Fridays in different parts of the city, incl. on the Market Square, on pl. st. Barbara, in Hala na Skarpa or the palace in Miechowice. Tickets cost 5 PLN.

Becekobus – on the way to eco-adventure

For the 14th time, Becekobus, beloved by the elderly and young, leaves the streets of Bytom for the 14th time. As every year, it will visit children from different parts of the city to entice the youngest to create, play and participate in scientific and environmental workshops as part of a summer workshop trip. Becekobus will arrive in our city on August 15 and will run until August 29. Registration is required for lessons at Becekobus.

Non-obvious walks

Promotiebureau Bytom organizes four themed walks as part of the Bytom Nieobiewisty series. Jacek Maniecki, co-founder of the Bytom Digital Library of Architecture, talks about how Bytom’s development changed in the early 19th and 20th centuries.

Arkadiusz Makowski, a nature lover, member of the Upper Silesian Ornithological Club, will lead a walk called “Frogs. A breeding ground on the outskirts of cities”. Photographer Teresa Ebis shows tenements in Bytom and historian Dariusz Pietrucha shows you the functional architecture of the The Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Society also invites you to walks around Bytom, where visitors can take a guided tour full of interesting facts, including Łagiewnik, Kolonia Zgorzelec, Hills of St. Margaret, the Reserve of Segiet and architectural gems.

There will also be attractions prepared by the palace in Miechowice

The holiday schedule also includes several events hosted at the palace in Miechowice, which kicks off on July 4. Attractions include: a narrow-gauge excursion and a lake picnic for children from Poland and Ukraine with chaperones as part of the Santa Claus Harbor project, a trip to Miechowicka Ostoja Leśna, drama and music workshops. Not just for young artists

Rozbark Theater invites you to dance, painting, acting and vocal workshops. The Silesian Opera organizes dance, singing and painting workshops and ballet classes for children and adults. An interesting offer was prepared by the Youth House of Culture No. 2, which invites, among other things, to ceramics and art workshops and to a modeling studio. In turn, the School Complex in Bytom, the Vocational Training Center in Katowice has prepared classes for children who want to improve, among other things, knowledge of English, knowledge of computer networks and cosmetic advice. The educational institution will also provide Polish language lessons to children from Ukraine.

Holiday with the Municipal Public Library

The Municipal Public Library organizes the Traveler’s Summer Academy, ie artistic and literary workshops enriched with multimedia presentations and games with educational robots to learn to code. The library organizes meetings devoted to, among others: Pippi Longstocking, wild Africa and traveling women. In addition, the Municipal Public Library at pl. Jan III Sobieski organizes puzzle lessons, artistic and literary workshops and a game called “Holiday with a book” – details in Holiday program with the Municipal Public Library

In a healthy body, healthy mind

For those who prefer to spend their holiday in motion include water playground, Torkacik, Orlik, roller skating rink, outdoor swimming pool at ul. Wrocławska, a climbing wall. Sports clubs in Bytom have prepared a rich offer. StasiakDojo invites you to “Vacation Karate for all” and yoga. Traditional karate lessons are also organized by MUKS Bytom. The courts on Tarnogórska Street will include National Polish Championship, Team European Junior Championship and Superliga.

Climbing Wall Half Camps are hosted by the Skarpa Bytom Sports Club at the Climbing and Strength Sports Center.

As part of Active Mornings on the Grass, the Municipal Support Center for Families invites you to ‘healthy spine’ classes for adults and to exercise and creative workshops for children.

Travel by narrow gauge railway

Summer leisure activities also include trips on the tourist trains of the Górnośląskie narrow gauge trains on the route Bytom – Tarnowskie Góry – Miasteczko Śląskie.

Open Air Museum

Again, the Upper Silesia Museum in Bytom organizes an open-air museum for children, ie workshops in the museum garden. For each holiday week, the employees of the Upper Silesian Museum have prepared a different topic, which will be performed twice (with one exception): every Tuesday and every Saturday at 12:00.

During these summer meetings we explore different areas of knowledge – from nature, via archeology to art. We visit an insect hotel, befriend discovered insects, play the role of paleontologists discovering the secrets of dinosaurs and create unique works of art. We invite children aged 6 – 12 to have fun!
