Why here?

The largest town in the Rewal Municipality of West Pomeranian Voivodeship, Pobierowo has been attracting Polish and German travelers for many years thanks to its wide beaches and inconspicuous tourist facilities. In addition to relatively small hotels, guest houses and single-family homes, a building with 11 aboveground and two underground floors was built in the middle of the forest.

Passing through the area of the famous Polish hotel in Pobierowo under construction, we see small buildings – warehouses, a hotel and a staff canteen. Pointing to the thread that runs around the investment, we ask why Poland’s largest hotel is being built here.

Hotel Gołębiewski in Pobierowo

– Previously it was a military unit with 34 military facilities purchased by the municipality. However, this changed the development plan and decided to: the unit, which was previously an empty spot on the map, is to be transformed into a tourist attraction† The local plan includes a provision about a large hotel – explains the location of the investment, which is still controversial, Robert Skraburski, director of the Gołębiewski hotel in Pobierowo, emphasizes: – It was a conscious action from the beginning to the end, with the consent of the residents.

– We were looking for an investor who would give us the guarantee that he would run the company all year round – emphasizes Skraburski, who was the head of the municipality of Rewal when Tadeusz Gołębiewski made the decision to develop this space and then Tadeusz Gołębiewski’s storyline. Now, in the role of hotel director, Onet Podróże tells about the giant being built in Pobierowo.

– Everything changes dynamically – explains Skraburski.

To show the work pace, we analyze restaurants on two floors of the hotel. In the Green Restaurant on the ground floor, work is currently being done on the finishing, laying tiles and bringing in appliances. The first floor is located The Red Restaurant – it will be the heart of the hotel. Here, guests eat their meals, choose dishes from marble displays and reach for drinks and desserts in separate points of the huge hall.

As Skraburski emphasizes, the phase of completing two restaurants is just two weeks away. The restaurant director Barbara Kordek, experienced in Tadeusz Gołębiewski’s hotel structures, decides what this part of the hotel should look like – from the dishwasher to the dining room.

In the waters of Gołębiewski

Saunas, salt caves, graduation towers, slides, artificial waves, wild river, outdoor and indoor pools, swimming pools and for children a huge changing room – this abundance of attractions is the hallmark of Tropicana, a water park under the brand name of Tadeusz Gołębiewski, located in a hotel in Pobierowo.

Corridor and stairs for tourists

The hotel has separate corridors and stairwells for employees and tourists. In addition to the enormous space, richly decorated chandeliers or illuminated granite, the interior also has practical applications due to the owner’s years of knowledge of the industry. The columns in the lower part are decorated with stone to prevent damage or dirt, there are no pictures hanging directly above the beds, the sofas are folded out and the decor of the room is quite classic.

– 80 percent rooms is just this standard. The same percentage has a sea view, directly or from the balcony, Skraburski emphasizes.
