Professor Eugeniusz Imas – Rector of the National University of Physical Education and Sports of Ukraine in Kiev and Professor Eugeniusz Prystupa – Rector of the State University of Physical Culture in Lviv – were awarded the title of Honorary Professor of Collegium Humanum – Main School of Management in Warsaw. The ceremony took place at the Olympic Center in Warsaw.

– This ceremony has a symbolic dimension. It takes place at a special moment and in a unique place for Polish sport. We cooperate with the Polish Olympic Committee and our students are also athletes and Olympians. I am pleased that today we can pay the highest recognition and respect to two outstanding professors from Ukraine and thus convey the message that peace is the highest good – said Prof. Dr. hab. Paweł Czarnecki – Rector of Collegium Humanum.

The laudation in honor of the honorees was delivered by the president of the Polish Olympic Committee, Andrzej Kraśnicki.
– I give this commendation as an honorary professor to the Collegium Humanum, honorary doctorate from the National University of Physical Education and Sports in Kiev, honorary doctorate from the Academy of Physical Education in Wrocław, and at the same time the chairman of the Polish Olympic Committee, for whom the development of universal sport and olympism is of great importance. The honorary title – the highest academic dignity – is awarded to outstanding people, distinguished for the development of science and culture, people of great stature, without whose activities the world would simply be poorer. And it certainly would be without the achievements, commitment, determination and work for the development of Ukrainian sports by Professors Eugeniusz Imas and Eugeniusz Prystupa. Today I would like to reiterate that Poland and the Polish Olympic Committee strongly condemn the attack on Ukraine and the violation of Olympic rules and values ​​- emphasized Andrzej Kraśnicki – President of the Polish Olympic Committee, Honorary Professor of Collegium Humanum.

Prof. Eugeniusz Imas

Prof. Eugeniusz Imas was elected and appointed Rector of the National University of Physical Education and Sports of Ukraine in Kyiv in June 2012 and re-elected in July 2019. His commitment and determination to pursue the stated goal have yielded impressive results. At the National University of Physical Education and Sports of Ukraine in Kiev, the number of students has doubled. The scope of the educational services was expanded and the high quality of the educational process was ensured. The conditions for fruitful scientific work were created for the employees, and the university maintained its leading position in sports. Thanks to Professor Imas, the university started impressive development and promotion activities, gained prestige and became an important opinion-forming university in Ukraine.

Professor Eugeniusz Imas is also involved in the development of the Olympic Movement. Since 2014, he has chaired the Sports and Environment Commission of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine, which works closely with the IOC Commission on Sustainable Development and Heritage. There are 316 medalists among the university graduates – including 131 zloty.

In 2017, Prof. Eugeniusz Imas was elected President of the Ukrainian University Sports Federation. Under his leadership, trade union centers were established in almost all regions, headed by chancellors from leading universities. The authority and level of Ukrainian Universiades have been raised. More than 400 academic sporting events took place.

He is the author of more than 120 articles and research papers on socio-economic and legal issues of physical culture and sport, entrepreneurship in the field of physical culture and sport, strategies and recommendations for healthy lifestyles, and a promoter of the development of e sports in Ukraine, which is part of the global trend.

– Thank you for the honor and title of Honorary Professor Collegium Humanum. The values ​​propagated by this university correspond to those proclaimed by our university for generations. I am convinced that together – together with other sports organizations – we will be able to carry out a number of initiatives related to creating a favorable environment for sustainable development and achieving synergy of activities in the field of education, science and sports, and new solutions in sports training, physical education and health promotion and disease prevention – said Prof. Eugeniusz Imas – rector of the National University of Physical Education and Sports of Ukraine in Kiev, honorary professor at the Collegium Humanum.

Prof. Eugeniusz Prystupa

Prof. Prystupa has always been associated with sports. In 1977 he graduated from the Technical School of Physical Culture in Ivano-Frankivsk. In 1984, the Lviv State Institute of Physical Culture, and in 1986, an aspiring at the Lviv State Institute of Physical Culture. In 1989 he defended his thesis on the problems of modeling the training of skilled basketball players, and in 1996 his thesis on physical education in Ukrainian ethnopedagogy. He is a graduate doctor of educational sciences, a professor and since 2008 an academician of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences.

Prof. Prystupa worked in senior positions at the Lviv Regional Sports Committee, at Vasyl Stefanyk University, Volyn State University, as well as Lviv State University of Physical Culture.

For some time he was also associated with Poland. In the years 2001-2007 he was full professor at the Faculty of Physiotherapy of the Academy of Physical Education in Wrocław, as well as the head of the Department of Recreation and Tourism of this university. Since 2007, he has been the rector of the Lviv State University of Physical Culture.

Prof. Eugeniusz Prystupa is affiliated with the Olympic Movement – since 2011 he is the deputy chairman of the branch of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine in the Lviv region.

His scientific and educational achievements are extremely impressive. He has 9 certificates of copyright and patents of Ukraine. He prepared 6 habilitated doctors and 15 doctors for Physical Culture Sciences. He was appreciated by many organizations and awarded him numerous prestigious awards and honors. Prof. Eugeniusz Prystupa is the author of 320 scientific, didactic and methodical works – independently and co-authored. More than 60 have appeared in leading foreign publishing houses.

– I would like to start with a beautiful inscription that is on the building of the seat of the Polish Olympic Committee. The words “Together for Ukraine” have touched me deeply and I would like to thank you for this gesture. The University of Physical Culture in Lviv was founded in 1946 and can boast numerous successes for more than 70 years. I am very pleased that they were appreciated and thank you for the award received. I also want to emphasize that Ukrainian heroes, including athletes, are fighting for a miracle. I believe we will defeat the enemy and make this world even better. I want to thank everyone who has supported us during this time. Poland is a unique country with which I will always be associated, also because of my Polish roots. Glory to Ukraine and glory to Poland – said Prof. Eugeniusz Prystupa.

Honorary professors of Collegium Humanum include Vaclav Klaus – President of the Czech Republic in the years 2003-2013, Andrzej Kraśnicki – President of the Polish Olympic Committee and eminent representatives of the cultural world. The graduate includes Olympic champion Otylia Jędrzejczak.

The high standards and quality approach to education were recognized and the university was awarded the title of EXCELLENT INSTITUTION OF THE YEAR 2022 in the EDUCATION category in the plebiscite of the Polish Federation of Entrepreneurs and Employers Przedsiębiorcy.pl.
