New livestock subsidies. Please check before submitting your application!

The good news for farmers has just been announced: the deadline for submitting applications for direct aid has been extended. So there is more time to see how the new livestock subsidies work.

Almost every year, farmers are subjected to “mindfulness testing”. Support measures, rules for granting benefits, way of completing applications, etc. In this situation it is easy to make mistakes when applying for a subsidy. This also applies to the new rules for granting livestock allowances.

What are the new livestock subsidies? Terms of payment

Payments to livestock farmers do not depend on the sex of the animals or the direction of production. They are valid throughout the country and are awarded to animals that:

  • on 15 May of the year in which the application for this benefit is made, will not exceed the age of 24 months,
  • they will be in the farmer’s possession for a period of 30 days from the date of submission of the application for this payment.

More importantly, payment is due to animals for which:

  • on the date of submission of the application for the granting of these benefits, the declarations required by the provisions on the identification and registration system for animals have been made;
  • At the latest from the date of submission of the application for the granting of these allowances, the identification requirements set out in the provisions on the identification and registration system for animals are met.

In addition, farmers need to know that the ownership of animals is confirmed in the animal identification and registration system.

ARMA informs: new livestock subsidies – cast

According to ARMA, the minimum number of animals covered by the application for this payment is 3 animals up to 24 months old. As for the payment, it is awarded to a maximum of 20 animals.

In addition, the application must be accompanied by a statement of the animals declared for payment. One should not forget the declaration of consent of the co-holder with the granting of benefits. The obligation to submit this document does of course not apply to spouses.

Animal grant 2022 – payout

As already mentioned, payment is due to female or male pets, whose age on May 15, 2022 does not exceed 24 months. The cattle-related compensation is granted to animals born on or before 15 May of the year in which the application for this compensation was submitted.

New livestock subsidies – community

Taking into account the situation where cattle are owned by several persons, the maximum number of animals (20 head) is the number of animals for which all their co-owners are entitled to such compensation.

In your situation, keep in mind that the application is accompanied by a declaration of animals to be paid.

Subsidies for new cattle – replacement animals

Should farmers overlook this information, we would like to point out an important possibility. Well, animals declared for payment to livestock during the detention period can be replaced without losing the right to payment. The exception is when the farmer is informed of the non-compliance in the application or the intention to carry out an inspection.

When is payment for replacement animals due?

Breeders receive compensation for replacement animals if they meet certain requirements. Payments are due when:

  • they meet the admission requirements (gender and age),
  • at the latest within 14 days of the date of the event necessitating the replacement of the animal, the farmer:
  • took possession of replacement animals,
  • informed of the fact of replacement of the animal reported in the application of the head of the ARMA poviat office, on the form provided by the Agency,
  • with regard to these animals:
  • until the date on which the head of the BP of the Agency was informed of the replacement of the animal specified in the application, the notifications required under the provisions on the animal identification and registration system were made,
  • The requirements for animal identification, set out in the provisions on the animal identification and registration system, shall be met at the latest from the date of notification of the animal’s replacement to the head of the Agency’s police station.

In summary, the change in the rules for granting benefits is not new for the farmer. Almost every year there are changes that you have to get used to. At this point, it is worth remembering that there are new livestock subsidies and new rules for applying for payments.
