PSE awards grants to local communities under the “Empower your environment” program – Świnoujście

The call for applications for the 4th edition of the grant program “Empower your environment”, organized by Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne. The company will provide more than PLN 4.5 million for the implementation of socially important projects. Local authorities, their budgetary units and non-governmental organizations operating in selected municipalities can apply for grants. Applications can be submitted from May 9th and until May 20th there is a special helpline, where employees will help you fill in the application form.

The “Empower your environment” program supports projects related to the development of local social infrastructure, activation of social and cultural life and provides financial support for their implementation. The initiative is aimed at municipalities where PSE invests or operates existing infrastructure. The idea of ​​the program is similar to the participatory budget formula, which allows residents to actively change their neighbourhood. In the second round of recruitment for grants up to PLN 20,000 can apply to local authorities, their budget units, such as schools, kindergartens or social welfare centers, as well as non-governmental organizations from Mazowieckie, Dolnośląskie, Opolskie, Podkarpackie, Śląskie, Wielkopolskie and Zachodniopomorskie.

Participants in the second round of the program can apply for funding in one of seven categories: physical activity, safety, education, animal protection, development of a common public space, environment and health. Application forms are accepted from May 9 to June 17. A special helpline has also been launched, where you can call until May 20 to ask questions about the program and discuss the application form with advisors. The hotline is open on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on three phone numbers: 737 806 111, 502 106 948 and 502 053 468.

We hope that also in the ongoing 2nd round of recruitment, valuable initiatives will be submitted that will introduce positive changes for the community and serve the residents for many years”, says Marta Borowska, coordinator of the “Empower your environment” program.

This year’s edition of the “Empower your environment” program will cover 170 local authorities across Poland – a record number in the history of this initiative. The winning projects will be implemented at the end of 2022.

The participants can be inspired by ideas from previous years. So far, PSE has purchased interactive learning resources, such as VR glasses, building outdoor gyms, modernizing school computers, chemistry and electrical engineering classrooms, organizing robotics lessons, plotting cycling and walking routes or activities to strengthen the health literacy of the children. residents.

In previous years, PSE helped implement 360 social projects with a total value of more than PLN 6 million.

Polish power grids

Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne is the operator of the electricity transmission system in Poland. The company operates a transmission network with the highest voltage lines of 400 kV and 220 kV, with a total length of more than 15,000 kilometers, which allow the transport of energy over long distances, and 109 power plants for the processing and distribution of electricity.

Stations are important elements of the transmission network – their job is to change the voltage of the electricity sent so that it can be delivered to households through the networks of local distribution operators.

Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne implements an investment program approved by the chairman of the Energy Regulatory Office – more than 170 projects worth about PLN 14 billion. As a result, nearly 3,600 km of new 400 kV lines will be built by 2030 and 1,600 km of extra voltage lines and 44 power plants will be modernized.

PSE is the only company in Central Europe to have built a new transmission infrastructure on such a scale. Thanks to these investments, Poland will create one of the most modern transmission systems in Europe, which will be an important pillar of energy security in the coming decades and guarantee the reliable operation of the national electricity system.
